Climate Control and Surge Protection
We have
a very sophisticated climate control system in our machine room. There is
a thermometer on the side of the rack, a big fan in front of the rack, and
an air conditioner in the window. It gets the job done well, even in 100
degree plus Philly Summer weather, and that makes us happy...
To
protect against those infamous Philly brownouts and power surges, we have
a Back-Ups Pro 1000 UPS. The UPS will provide enough power to keep the entire
system (except the dial-in modems) running for at least 45 minutes. We've
been struck by lightening once already, and the Back-Ups Pro did a wonderful
job of protecting the equipment.
